Bijou Graphique
- Fine Art Jewelry by Dawn Estrin & George Wilson. Their jewelry is based on the concept of creating aesthetic settings for the display of unique photographs. The photos chosen are the result of endless searching for images that express such things as classic human beauty, romance, love, humor, and fantasy. Each of their pieces tells a story which can be interpreted differently in the mind of every viewer. The dreamlike quality of the images draw those who see them into a tiny fantasy world.

The designs are influenced by their love of decorative arts from the European renaissance, Baroque, and Neo-Classical periods as well as American Art deco and the architecture of the Middle East.

The work is of the highest quality where materials & technique are concerned. All the jewelry is handmade of sterling silver and the gemstones are genuine and of good character. The backs of the pieces are finished with an attractive, patterned metal, stamped silver and bear their personal hallmarks. The photos themselves are real continuous tone images, not copies. They are hand printed in miniature and are sealed into the work with optical quality, shatter proof polycarbonate plastic. RETURN TO INDEX

Michael Harrington - A New York designer, creates whimsical and incredibly unique pens from handmade paper beads. The beads are rolled from long strips of patterned paper around a brass core which uses a refillable ballpoint refill.( two refills are included with each pen and more are available from the artist). These beautifully designed and surprisingly sturdy pens have been written up in Pen World and have sold at The Philadelphia Museum of Art, the National Academy of Design, the New York Public Library Museum Store on Fifth Avenue, The American Crafts Museum Store as well as several other fine stores and galleries. Anyone interested in fine writing instruments or in a truly unique art form would find these extremely collectable. Each piece is like an unusual jewel that happens to write. These are produced on a fairly limited basis so some models may only be available for a short time. RETURN TO INDEX  RETURN TO HARRINGTON

Madrat Studio / G.A.Myers - Mixed-media artist, (as well as the owner of this site)  I construct boxes and small cabinets in  wood which are than embellished with a variety of materials ranging from carved wood, fired clay, polymer moldeling paste, etc., to a miscellaneous array of  found objects. Most pieces are one of a kind, while some are produced in limited quantities. The subject matter runs the gamut from the purely decorative to explorations of science, human nature,  fantasy etc., whatever presents itself. The style is somewhat rough and primitive, which lends a certain eccentricity to it. Most of the pieces I make have a certain sense of humor inherent in them, at  least I think so. I'd like to think that they'll still be around in 50 years, a bit battered and bruised, but still able to elicit a response of curiosity and interest. Stonehenge Pottery Co. is Ron Aubuchon. The pieces featured, are fired in the traditional centuries old Japanese process called Raku. The pieces are formed by hand on the potters wheel, then bisque fired. Bisque is a fairly low temperature initial firing which hardens the clay enough to be handled without breaking. The pots are than glazed (colored) and fired to approximately 1800 degrees F. Once the temperature is reached the pot is quickly removed from the kiln and placed in a barrel of combustive materials (in this case oak leaves). The heat of the pot causes the leaves to burst into flames. The pot is quickly covered with more leaves and then the barrel is sealed. This creates a oxygen free environment. After 2-3 minutes, the pot is removed and plunged into water to stop further oxidation. Once cooled it's removed and scrubbed clean to reveal it's unique finish.  It's this unpredictable process that accounts for the variations in coloring as well as the cracks formed during the abrupt changes in temperature and the oxidation. It's this stress that creates the crackled effect and also makes the finished pieces unsuitable for liquid or food storage. RETURN TO INDEX  RETURN TO STONEHENGE
